URBA Top 14 Macro Cup: preview, schedules and how to see date 5

This Saturday April 18 will be launched date 5 of the URBA Top 14 Macro Cup presented by Zurich. Look at the formations of all the teams!

One of the outstanding matches will be the match between the leader Hinduand the last one, Belgrano. While another attractive clash will be between Alumni and Newman.

Furthermore, they will face Atlético del Rosario vs CASI, La Plata vs Buenos Aires, Champagnat vs SIC, Los Matreros vs Los Tilos and Regatas vs CUBA.

Hindu vs Belgrano

HOW THEY GET THERE: As if remembering its best times, Hindú began the 2026 season with a full start, winning the four games it played in a row. In the old classic on route 202, Elefante beat Biei very well, 34 to 12 with an exceptional performance by Fermín Ormaechea, author of 29 points.

The last champion showed his credentials and resolved a duel that was balanced until the final 20 minutes. He marked the logical differences between a team that has just become champion and another that has just been promoted. Newman thrashed Los Matreros 52 to 28, and scored four tries in the second half.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: Protagonists of the last tournaments, the clubs that became champions in 2024 and 2025, respectively, compete in Tortuguitas. For now, Newman arrives better confirmed, with only one false performance, the game lost against SIC. Alumni, for its part, was somewhat more irregular until now, winning and losing in much more even procedures.

THE BACKGROUND: Of the last four games they played, three were victories for the Cardenal and the remaining for Alumni, by 37 to 26 in Tortuguitas, in 2024. The triumphs of the Cardenal in 2025 were by 24 to 14 and 30 to 22.

Atlético del Rosario vs CASI

HOW THEY GET THERE: With a start in which the most positive thing was its two victories as a visitor, Atlético del Rosario once again obtained a favorable result in La Plata, and with a good performance they beat Los Tilos by 39 to 32. Once again, the effectiveness of Manuel Nogués was key to adding the four points.

CASI played in Bella Vista, against Regatas at home and left no doubts by beating them 38 to 14. The power of the pack and the effectiveness of Juan Akemeier from the back of the court and with his kicks (he scored 23 points) were key when it came to a new academic celebration.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: The history of Plaza Jewell contains many battles against the San Isidro Academy. The Rosario team, in its last stay in the top category, had many difficulties to gain strength in the Gould Passage. This year, in its only performance it lost against Regatas de Bella Vista.

ALMOST maintains the same structure as the 2025 semi-finalist team. Beyond the tight loss against Hindú Club, in Don Torcuato, they won the rest of the games clearly. He is one of the candidates this season and that is why he travels to Rosario, to affirm his good present.

THE BACKGROUND: After two seasons they face each other again in Plaza Jewell. The last duel was in 2024 with CASI’s victory by 59 to 34. Atlético has not beaten the Zebras in Rosario since 2023, when it did so by 28 to 20.

Regattas vs CUBA

HOW THEY GET THERE: After losing in their respective matches last Saturday, Regatas and CUBA meet in Bella Vista with the sole objective of adding a victory. Those from Bella Vista received CASI, who was home on their court due to meeting a suspension date, and lost 38 to 14 against the Zebras who were better positioned in the formations and had a decisive kicker.

CUBA also lost at home against La Plata, by a tight 35 to 33, in its fourth consecutive defeat in this tournament. The curious fact for the Villa de Mayo team was that they lost in all their falls by less than seven points. Against the Canaries as against Champa, the game escaped them in the final minutes.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: With greater urgency for Universitario, the clash between Regatas and CUBA has a common denominator: turning the page and forgetting what happened a week ago. Regatas played a good first half against CASI, but they felt the changes of the injured. CUBA knows that it was able to add something more in the initial dates, and on Saturday they have the opportunity to recover on their visit to Bella Vista.

La Plata vs Buenos Aires

HOW THEY GET THERE: After playing the best first half of the tournament in Villa De Mayo, La Plata had to suffer to emerge as a loser, they beat CUBA by 35 to 33 and celebrated for the first time this year.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: Until the fourth date, the best version of the canary had not appeared. Defeats against Plaza, CASI and especially in the classic against Los Tilos, the yellow team needs to find greater consistency in the tournament.

Champagnat vs SIC

HOW THEY GET THERE: After returning to the Top 14 after beating San Luis in the promotion final, Champagnat started the tournament with a good face, and took advantage of the experience of its last participation in the 2024 edition. The Marists won the last three games after the negative debut against CASI. On Saturday they beat Belgrano in Virrey del Pino, by 30 to 24, a field where they had not won since 2009.

SIC is one of the two clubs that is still undefeated in this Top 14, it shares that condition with Hindú Club, although in the table it added one point less than Don Torcuato’s team. The Zanjeros had a close victory against Alumni, in Tortuguitas by 33 to 23, in which they once again made a difference in the decisive sections. With tries from their forwards, they play at the pace of their midfield pair, Albanese and Sascaro, who set the team’s dynamic.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: Achieving three victories in the first four dates was an unbeatable start for Champagnat. Taking into account their previous time in the Top 12, in 2024, maintaining this good start will be one of the great challenges.

SIC is a club that always appears as the protagonist, and with some exceptions it maintains a regularity that has taken it to the finals in recent years without interruption. With a new leadership it shows no changes, it started with four victories and is, at this point, the most effective team in the Top 14. It travels to Estancias del Pilar to impose its conditions.

THE BACKGROUND: Club Champagnat won two victories over SIC in the last 20 years. The last one was in the 2009 season, by the slightest difference (12-11). From there they played eight games against each other, all with clear victories. They have not played since 2024, when the Boulogne comfortably won both duels by 55 to 12 and 39 to 6

Los Matreros vs Los Tilos

HOW THEY GET THERE: After a first stage very up to the task, Los Matreros felt the effort and could not cope with the variety of resources that Newman imposed on them, the champion who finally beat them 52 to 28. Nacho Piñeyro’s team occupies seventh place in the table with two wins and two losses, in a start where it was very competitive.

Los Tilos has just lost in Barrio Obrero, 39 to 32, against Atlético del Rosario. The people of La Plata only won the classic against La Plata and have three losses at the beginning of the tournament. Against Plaza they played a round-trip game that went to Rosario although they still had the defensive bonus.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: Beyond the seven tries that Newman scored against them, the victories against Regatas and Plaza and the match they played against SIC were a platform to be neck and neck in the Top 14. For Los Matreros the objective will be to stand again against the next rival.

Los Tilos did not start like in the 2025 season, it is not seen with the same firmness as a year ago. The balance that characterized him did not work at this start with 17 tries received in his own in-goal.
