The Leoncitas beat Chile and qualified for the 2027 Junior World Cup

After a perfect group stageLas Leoncitas faced Las Diablas Jr again (it was their last rival in the regular phase) and they beat them again at the “Claudia Schüler” National stadium. On this occasion, Argentina beat Chile 7 to 0 for the semi-final of the competition and achieved, in addition to qualifying for the final, the ticket to the 2027 Junior World Cup.

The match started with a great goal from Clarisa Iudicello (3´)who received a long flick from behind midfield inside the area, stopped it with incredible indifference and scored between the legs of goalkeeper Olivia Cuadros to score the 1-0 for Las Leoncitas against Las Diablas Jr. Seven minutes later, the scorer Chiara Ambrosini (10´) scored, again from a penalty corner, to stretch the score in the game to 2-0.

After a smoother second quarter in terms of dangerous situations in both areas, Argentina returned to the fray in the third quarter with two goals to increase the lead to 4 to 0: first of all by the hand of Ambrosini (36′) and then for Iudicello (39′). Double for the two players of excellent championship with the albiceleste shirt.

Already in the fourth and last quarter, Las Leoncitas continued with the momentum at the beginning of the second half and scored three more goals to seal the victory in the semifinals: Rocío Bianchi (47′), Luciana Peralta (55′) and Máxima Duportal (58′) to go from 4 to 0 to 7 to 0 final against Las Diablas Jr.

With this result, Las Leoncitas qualified for the World Cup of the category in 2027 and will play the final of the Jr. Pan American Cup against Las Cimarroncitas or the United Stateson Saturday 4/18 from 8 p.m.
