Nairo Quintana would end his career as a professional cyclist

The Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana will hold a press conference in Barcelona before the start of the Tour of Catalonia in which he would announce his retirement from professional cycling.

For some months there has been speculation about the future of Nairo, who currently belongs to the Movistar Team, with whom he renewed for a season in October of the previous year. The decision to retire has been haunting Nairo recently and this time it seems that his successful career will come to an end.

In a meeting with the media in Barcelona that serves as a prelude to the start of the Tour of Catalonia, Nairo will confirm his decision. He is expected to do so accompanied by the Movistar Team sports director, Eusebio Unzué. It will be on Sunday, March 22 at around noon in Colombia, at the S’Agaró Hotel in Girona, Spain.

Among Nairo Quintana’s great exploits, we remember, among others, his titles in the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España, in addition to his podiums in the Tour de France.
