Yesica Acosta is the biggest player on the San Carlos A team. At 34 years old, she is the Primera’s goalkeeper, and she has been guarding all three clubs for 20 years. She can’t imagine her days without hockey, and while she always had doubts about the position she plays, winning and seeing the hard work they do every day as a team motivates her to continue. “It gives meaning to my life”he commented.

He returned to San Carlos in 2025, after playing for Deportiva Francesa, but trained at Banco Ciudad. “Returning to San Carlos was always the idea and the truth is that I am very happy to meet again with friends and with girls who were sixth or fifth grade and now are my classmates”. Regarding the younger girls, she mentioned that she cannot believe that she gets to share the court with them, and seeing the growth they had makes her proud. Furthermore, the human group that was formed is very nice, but also the people of the club, who welcomed her again with great warmth. “They lift my mood on my bad days and inspire me every day to continue improving”said.

With a fairly young squad, it is difficult to keep up, but not impossible. You have to dedicate a lot of time to it, despite the fatigue. “I put myself at the same level as the girls, who always motivate me, so I think: ‘I can’t let up, I have to keep going’”. He is not only the voice of experience, but also the one who orders the entire court from behind.
