WNBA: Aces overwhelm Wings with great performance by Jackie Young

Las Vegas Aces crushed Dallas Wings with prominent participation by Jackie Young, who scored 24 points.


Arlington, Texas–Jackie Young scored 24 points, Jewell Loyd had a great game from the bank and Las Vegas Aces won the Dallas Wings on Sunday 106-80, who gave rest to the novice star Paige Bueckers.

Loyd left the bank for the first time in his first season with the ACES to score 20 points, and Kierstan Bell replaced it and scored 19, his best personal brand. Both combined seven triples for Las Vegas to reach their best brand of the season with 15, five from Young.

A’ja Wilson scored 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Las Vegas (13-13), which broke a streak of two losses. Nalysa Smith scored 11 points.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 18 points for the Wings (7-19), Haley Jones added 15, Dijonai Carrington 14 and Teaira McCowan 12 with 13 rebounds.

Young scored 14 points with four triples for ACES in the first quarter, which ended with the score tied 27, and the Wings hit 59% of their shots.

Bell spotted a triple to put the Aces above 39-36 in the middle of the second quarter and then another for Las Vegas to advance 56-44 to rest. It was the tenth with 50 points that Dallas allowed and the second consecutive.

Dallas only had 12 ball losses, but aces made them 26 points, while the wings obtained 10 points of 10 losses.

Becky Hammon won his 100th victory in regular season and became the third fastest coach to reach this milestone in 142 games.
