Without Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever beat Las Vegas Aces
Caitlin Clark, star of the Faver, remains with a low for an injury to the groin, and there is no scheduled date for his return.
Indianapolis–Kelsey Mitchell scored 21 points, Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston achieved double-doubles, and the Indiana Fever They defeated them Las Vegas Aces 80-70 Thursday night.
Caitlin Clarkfrom Indiana, remains on a groin injury, and the Faver reported Thursday that there is no scheduled date for their return. No more injuries were detected during this week’s medical tests.
Howard ended with 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Boston added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sophie Cunningham scored 15 points.
A’ja Wilson, who averaged 31.7 points on the streak of three consecutive victories of ACES, led Las Vegas (12-12) with 20 points. Jackie Young scored 19 and Nalysa Smith had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Indiana (13-12) had lost two parties in a row, both against the New York defending champion: one before the game of the stars game and another later.
Howard scored 11 points in the third quarter, leading an action of 27 points of the Faver for an advantage of 62-56 when entering the last quarter. Indiana limited Las Vegas to two points in a four-minute section of the last period and the Faver won 69-62 with 4 and a half minutes remaining.
The advantage was 75-70 after Jewell Loyd scored for Las Vegas, but the Acts passed the last 94 seconds without scoring. Aari McDonald spoken a triple and Cunningham added two free throws to close the game.
Indiana led during most of the first quarter and the Faver had an 18-12 advantage with 1:40 to play. Las Vegas led 6 of 7 free throws in the final stretch to tie the score at 18 when reaching the second quarter.
Wilson scored six of the first eight points of the second quarter and the ACES were put 26-18 above. After the Aces lost 33-29, a triple of Loyd started a streak of 12-2 and went to rest with an advantage of 41-35.
