“Where is the VAR? What a shame!”: Braga explodes over Pau Víctor’s bloody foot

Sporting de Braga has exploded against the refereeing after losing 1-2 yesterday against Gil Vicente. Alexandre Carvalhocommunication director of the Portuguese club, published on his social networks an image of the bloody foot of Pau Victor (24), former forward of the Barçaafter an action that preceded the visitor’s tying goal. “Where is the VAR, once again? Be ashamed. Enough of amateurism,” wrote the leader.

Carvalho accompanied his message with a photograph of how the attacker’s ankle was left and a video of an action against Ricardo Horta in the final minutes, in which Braga claimed a penalty. “This is how Pau Víctor’s foot looked in the play that led to Gil Vicente’s tying goal (1-1). To this we must add a very clear penalty at the end of the game against Ricardo Horta,” denounced the head of communication, who charged against the refereeing and the performance of the VAR.

Pau Víctor himself also showed his indignation at the end of the meeting and demanded explanations. “It is clear that we must be self-critical, things are not going the way we want. But we wanted answers, we need answers from someone,” said the forward, who scored the only goal for his team. Regarding the action that ended with his bloody foot, he questioned: “I don’t know why an action doesn’t call in which I end up with my stocking full of blood and then Gil Vicente’s goal comes.”

The defeat had direct consequences on the figure of Carlos Vicens, who has been dismissed as coach. Franclim Carvalho has taken office with the aim of reversing the situation immediately. In the Portuguese league they are ninth with 9 points, far from the 24 of Porto, the leader. While in the Conference they began by losing 3-0 against Copenhagen.
