Wembanyama, in serious danger, escapes a good

Victor Wembanyama has been close to putting itself in an extreme situation that would have put the ring even more expensive for the San Antonio Spurs, still in a critical situation, being 2-1 down in these NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.

In Monday’s victory that made it 2-1 for the Texas team, Wemby starred in an ugly play in which he almost shot Jalen Brunson of a slap to his head, an action that was not sanctioned even with a foul and followed by a mocking smile from the French center at the baseman’s indignation.

Wembanyama got away with the action unpunished but the NBA reviewed the play afterwards to determine if it punished the interior with a flagrant foul.

According to the ESPNthe American league decided to exempt Wemby from such punishment, which would have given him his third point for a flagrant foul in these playoffs, at the limit of the four that lead to suspension.

Victor Wembanyama received his first two points after the type 2 flagrant for which he was expelled from Game 4 of the Conference Semifinals against the Timberwolves for his elbow to Naz Reid.

Wembanyama has been spared a good one on the eve of the fourth game of the Finals this coming morning (02:30, Spanish time). NBA vice president of referee development and training Monty McCutchen recognized the ESPN that the Frenchman’s attempt should have been punished with a foul.
