Victoria Miranda spoke with AM850.com about how she is preparing for her first Playoffs with the Ciudad de Buenos Aires jersey. The last time Núñez’s club had entered, Vicky was playing in the Jr. World Cup with Las Leoncitas.

“Since I came to Buenos Aires and since I arrived at the club I wanted and dreamed of this moment,” Vicky said. Originally from Córdoba, she traveled to the city of Buenos Aires to grow in her hockey, and the team received her in such a way that today she wears the captain’s ribbon. With the happiness that comes with qualifying for this stage of the Metropolitan Tournament and being able to play, he has been enjoying it since it became a reality. On the penultimate date they tied with Ferro and got their place in the Playoffs. “I’m already thinking about what’s coming, that it’s going to be beautiful and what we have to work on. It’s going to be very difficult, but we’re not satisfied with having just entered, but we’re thinking about going further.”

A couple of months ago a historic one returned to the club: Carlita Rebecchi. “For us it was like one more motivation because of what she represents in the club.” Carlita was one of those responsible for Vicky playing in Ciudad today, who opened the doors of her house for her to get to know the people, the club, generating that desire to belong.

City vs. Ferro: the decisive match for both teams

That Saturday many things were at stake. On the one hand, Ferro needed to win to continue fighting to maintain the category, while Muni needed at least one point to get into the top six. The result ended 2 to 2 but it was a match that had a lot of energy in the air, and also nervousness on the part of both teams. “We handled that game with the peace of mind that we did a lot of good things during the year to always depend on ourselves, that I think was the most important thing. We always depended on our results and the good and not so good things that we did for the next game that came, improve them and always that, play with our result”said the captain.

The team had won the Buenos Aires Championship Cup in September of this year, and with that mental boost is how they continued working to enter the Playoffs. Ciudad is a team that played a couple of times at the bottom of the table, escaping the playoffs, but there is no doubt that it always wants to move forward and look for more.

What did you say to mini Vicky who is fulfilling a dream today? Let him trust. “The process is long and it comes, but I would tell you not to settle, above all.” With that mentality he leads a young team that is hungry to continue writing history for his club. Not only her, but many of her colleagues dreamed of being where they are today, and why not dare to want more?

This Saturday, November 15, they play against Italiano in the Playoffs matchuplooking for a place in the semifinal. Due to the sporting advantage, they must win no matter what, because if they finish tied, Tano would go to the next instance. “If I had to think of two teams in the final, I would love it to be the Clásico. A GEBA vs. Muni has something special, and generates something very nice on and off the field, due to the history of the two clubs”he finished.
