With ups and downs, the winners had the patience to score points and fairly obtain the victory against a rival that showed more drive than ideas. The best of rugby, on Disney+ Premium Plan.

The first stage exposed the limitations of both teams, although it was enough for Uruguay with two clear actions to take advantage. At 15 minutes, from a scrum, Manuel Diana began a powerful start that in a couple of phases left Germán Kessler in front of the goal to score the first try. Shortly after, a break by Manuel Ardao and a great cross kick by Agustín Álvarez – who made both conversions – enabled Bautista Basso for the second conquest, putting the Teros in control of the scoreboard.

In the rest of the section, Romania tried but without precision: they lost balls within 22 meters and showed flaws in handling. The Uruguayans appealed to the hierarchy acquired in recent years and, patiently, waited for their moments. In the last action, the Robles scored thanks to a line and maul that ended in a try by Tudor Butnariu, converted by Alin Conache, to leave the partial 14-7 in favor of the South Americans.

In the second half, Uruguay came out determined to win and just after three minutes they struck again: from a maul, Manuel Diana broke free to widen the difference. The European response came with the push of their forwards in the last centimeters, where Andrei Mahu managed to break the defense and support. However, the visitors maintained the initiative and, after another line and maul, Joaquín Myszka added a new victory that Álvarez transformed into seven points.

From then on, Romania tried, while Uruguay managed the time. To decorate the result was the conquest of Thomas Cretu who broke in the final meter and dived into the ingoal. The final score of 31-21 reflected the superiority of the Teros, who closed the year with a smile and confirmed the growth of a team that already plays with hierarchy on the international level.
