Llaneros was the team that always had the intention at home, the Meta team constantly tried against a Unión Magdalena that had a somewhat conservative approach.
The match broke loose in the 39th minute when Ómar Duarte, left-footed, attacked the ball from about twenty meters and sent it into the back of the net of the goal defended by Guillermo Enrique Gómez.
In the penalty shootout the one that won was Unión Magdalena 4-2 and after the charges of Sarmiento, Cantillo, Blanco and Sencion.
Before the penalty shootout, Llaneros had already achieved promotion to the First Division with the victory due to their score in the reclassification table where they finished in first place with 91 points. There was the possibility that both teams would be promoted and it happened, the llanero team had to win and that in the penalty shootout the winner would be ‘El Ciclón Bananero’, which incidentally returns to ‘A’ after a year of absence.
