The teams classified for CONMEBOL Libertadores 2025
Botafogo became champion of the 2024 Cup and these are the teams classified for CONMEBOL Libertadores 2025. Some places still need to be defined as several tournaments are still being played.
In the group stage of the Libertadores participate 32 clubs from ten South American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. In addition, the clubs that become champions of the Libertadores -Botafogo- and the Sudamericana in 2024 -Racing- and four teams that win the previous phase will be present.
The winner of the Copa Libertadores in 2025 will play the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025the South American Cup Winners’ Cup 2026the Copa Libertadores 2026the Interamerican Cup 2026 and the Club World Cup 2029.
The teams classified for Libertadores 2025
Argentina
For having won the 2024 League Cup, the four-time American champion is once again present to compete in the highest continental competition. A place in the group stage is assured.
The Academy became champion of the 2024 Copa Sudamericana and therefore qualified for the group stage of the 2025 Copa Libertadores.
Fortín claimed to be among the three best teams of the year in the annual table, which for now leads, which is why it earned a ticket to the group stage of Libertadores 2025.
Millonarios qualified for the group stage of the Libertadores by confirming, after the defeat of Central, a place among the three best in the annual Argentine soccer table.

Bolivia
It was the first team to get its ticket to the Libertadores. In 2024 they played in the First Division of Bolivia for the first time, after the promotion achieved at the end of 2023.

Brazil
Mengao qualified for the 2025 Copa Libertadores by becoming champion of the Copa do Brasil. They beat Mineiro 4-1 on aggregate.
The three-time Cup champion secured his place in Libertadores 2025 because he finished second in the Brasileirao table.
Fotaleza was in fourth position and has its place in the 2025 Cup
The champion of the 2024 Copa Libertadores qualified for the 2025 tournament.
The Porto Alegre team has its place in the next Cup because it finished 5th in the Brasileirao.
The Tricolor is among those classified for the Copa Libertadores by finishing sixth in the local tournament
Timao, another of the Brazilian representatives for the 2025 Cup from the second qualifying phase.
The Libertadores will play from the second qualifying phase after finishing in 8th position in the Brasileirao.
Chili
The 1991 América champion will have his 39th participation in the Libertadores by finishing second in the Chilean tournament and securing a place in the group stage.
After four years of not participating, the U returns to play the Libertadores and already has its place in the group stage.
Iquique finished third in the 2024 First Division Tournament and will play in the second qualifying phase of the Cup.
The Chilanejos advanced to the final of the 2024 Chile Cup and since the U of Chile – already among the classified – will be their rival, they automatically gave up their place. It will play the second qualifying phase as Chile 4.
Colombia
By becoming champion of the Colombian League, Bucaramanga qualified for the 2025 Copa Libertadores and will do so from the group stage.
Pijao, Colombia’s best team in the annual table, has its place in the Copa Libertadores.
The Cardinals will play the Libertadores from the second qualifying phase as they remain in the 2024 reclassification table.

Ecuador
The finalist of the 2016 edition qualified directly to the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2025. This will be their eleventh participation and they have been present since 2019.
LDU has already qualified for the group stage.
The Shipyard Idol will play the second qualifying phase.
Because it is a finalist in the Copa Ecuador 2024, it will compete in the Copa Libertadores 2025 from the first qualifying phase.
Paraguay
By winning the Apertura de Paraguay 2024 tournament, Libertad achieved its passage to the group stage of the Cup. It will be its 24th participation.
El Decano became champion of the Clausura Tournament and qualified for the group stage of Libertadores 2025.
They qualified after the Olimpia title and for being the best placed -not champion- in the accumulated table of the First Division 2024. They will compete in the Cup from phase 2.
Nacional will play the final of the 2024 Paraguay Cup against Libertad – already qualified – so it has its place in the Libertadores 2025.
Peru
Los Cremas became champions of Apertura 2024 and entered directly into the group stage in their 35th participation.
Cristal finished second in the accumulated table of Peru’s League 1 in 2024 and has its place assured in the group stage. It will be his 40th participation in the tournament.
The blue and white team are in fourth place overall and will be present in the Libertadores in what will be their 31st participation.
The Arequipa team is third in the accumulated ranking and has already secured its classification for the Cup.
Uruguay
The three-time American champion will play in the Cup for the 29th consecutive time and is the team with the most appearances in the tournament with 52 participations, an absolute record.
The aurinegro, who is five-time champion of the Cup, won the Apertura tournament and that is why they qualified for the Libertadores. He also leads the annual Uruguayan soccer table.
The Uruguayan team will play the 2025 Cup from the second qualifying phase because it is the best non-finalist club in the annual table of the 2024 local Championship.

Venezuela
They led the accumulated table and will play in the group stage for the fourth consecutive time.
It is the first time that Universidad Central will play the Copa Libertadores and qualified by finishing second in the accumulated table of Venezuelan soccer.
The Venezuelan team became champions of the Apertura tournament and qualified for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2025.
They will compete in the second qualifying phase to be the runner-up of the Venezuelan First Division in 2024.
