Minneapolis–Satou Sabally scored 11 of his 24 points in the last quarter and Alyssa Thomas added 19 points and 13 assists to help the Phoenix Mercury overcome a disadvantage of 20 points and beat the Minnesota Lynx 89-83 in extra time on Tuesday night, drawing the semifinal series of the WNBA to a game for side.

A triple by Sami Whitcomb from the band 4 seconds from the end of the regulation time matched the game at 79 after Thomas maintained possession after a triple Whitcomb without scoring from the top of the area. The 5.5 -meter shot of Napheesa Collier for victory fell short on the horn, forcing the extension.

Thomas, who achieved a triple-double in the decisive victory of the third game of the first round that eliminated the New York defending champion, captured eight rebounds and promoted the comeback with its intensity after a first mediocre half. His triple in the absence of 3:32 for the end of the last quarter ended a period of 33:28 in which the Lynx, first series heads, put themselves ahead.

Collier scored 24 points on the day of his 29th birthday, Kayla McBride added 21 points and Courtney Williams added 20 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and three robberies for the LYNX, whose bank was surpassed by 25-3.

The Mercury, who played their fourth game in seven days, will host the third game of the series to the best of five on Friday night.
