The Australian squad, with surprises: a Rugby League player and a former All Black for the November window
Australia announced its squad for the November window, which will begin in Tokyo against Japanand will continue with matches against England, Italy, Ireland and France. All rugby, on Disney+ Premium Plan.
The Wallabies’ matches against the Brave Blossoms and La Rosa will be on October 25 and November 1, respectively. Because it is outside the release period by World Rugby, Schmidt will not be able to count on some of his figures who work abroad for the first part of the tour: Will Skelton, James O’Connor and Len Ikitau, among others, will only be able to be called up for the match against Italy in Udine, on November 8.
Until the arrival of its figures abroad, Australia will have a team with new names. Reds’ 23-year-old scrum-half Kalani Tomas has received his first call-up, and there will also be Aidan Ross, the former All Blacks prop who played just one game for the All Blacks in 2022 under manager Ian Foster.
In addition, Carter Gordon, from Rugby League, is also mentioned. While the flyhalf will return to the Reds in 2026, he is currently a player for the NRL’s Gold Coast Titans. It should be remembered that he played eight games with Eddie Jones in 2023, including his participation in the 2023 World Cup in France.
