Cleveland (AP) – Jarrett Allen scored 25 points, Donovan Mitchell added 24 and the Cleveland Cavaliers resisted Sunday afternoon 127-122 to the clippers.
Evan Mobley had 22 points while Cleveland reached 60 victories for the third time in the history of the franchise, and the first since the 2009-10 season. The Cavaliers (60-15) were advanced four 1/2 games about Boston for the first place at the Eastern Conference.
Allen and Mitchell also had 12 rebounds, while Mitchell stayed three assists from a triple-double.
Norman Powell had 34 points for the clippers, who did not have Kawhi Leonard due to the handling of a right knee injury. James Harden added 24 points.
The clippers were 18 points below at the beginning of the last quarter, but they achieved a streak of 14-5 during the last three minutes to approach 125-122 with 19 seconds.
Darius Garland sported a couple of free throws after a foul was committed by Nicolas Batum. A Mitchell theft in the following possession assured the game for Cleveland.
The clippers conclude their four -game tour in Orlando on Monday, while the Cavaliers receive the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
