Sofia Rogoskia former GEBA player who marked her time in Spain, spoke with AM850.com about being called up to the European country’s senior team. He currently plays in Barcelona, where the competitiveness of the sport is greater than the other places where he was. But before talking about its current situation, we must go back to 2020, where it all began.

While the world was going through a pandemic, Sofía decided to take the step to fulfill her dreams. That’s how he crossed the pond and arrived at Sardinero Hockey Club, where it all would begin. “At the time I came it was not so common, but I had seen several girls who were going to play outside, and I wanted to try it”said. He then played for Taburiente, in the Canary Islands, and in 2024 he began his time at Atletic Terrassa, in Barcelona, with new goals. “I wanted to achieve new goals, and the way both the team and the coaching staff welcomed me was very nice, they opened the doors for me from the first moment”he added.

Halfway through last year he obtained Spanish citizenship, and with that doors opened that he did not imagine, but that he dreamed of. That’s how she was called to train with the Redsticks. “I think playing for a national team is every athlete’s dream. You always want to play for your country, but they gave me the opportunity and I didn’t want to let it pass. “I didn’t have the chance with Argentina, but I did with Spain, so I didn’t hesitate.”

She is currently training with the team, and commented that she was equally excited and anxious – in a good way. She is very grateful for everything that Spain has given her in recent years, and she is eager to put on the European country’s shirt. A way to give back everything he gave you. “It is worth a lot and I feel that it is going to be an unforgettable experience”he commented.

Starting 2025 with enormous emotional momentum, Rogoski has well-defined goals. In addition to giving her 100% with Spain, she would love to become champions with Atletic Terrasa, since in the first part of the tournament they had a very good campaign, being in second place in the table. With all the pressure that a player has to want to perform, she always remembers something her father told her: “He told me that although there is a moment in which everything is competition and demand, the possibility of leaving all that aside is possible if one enjoys what one does. He also advised me to have fun and be happy with where I am today.”he finished.
