SGA sets a mark of 55 points and has played 37 games with at least 20 goals on another team’s court
Against the Pacers, Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander set another career high.
Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder works as a perfect scoring machine and during Thursday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, in a reissue of last year’s Finals, the Canadian point guard and Finals MVP scored one more record in his career.
The first half of the game in Indiana was enough for SGA to add its 37th consecutive game scoring 20 points or more as a visitor, equaling its own mark, which dates back to the 2022-23 season, a record for the Oklahoma City franchise.
So far, those 74 straight games with at least 20 SGA points are the fourth-longest streak in NBA history.
The OKC point guard is part of a select list along with legends of the Association

It was also the 40th time since the start of last season that Shai scored 20 or more points in a half. That’s 12 times more than any other player (Anthony Edwards with 28), according to research by NBA Research.
In the first two quarters of the game against the Pacers, Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 21 points to lead the comeback of his team that went into halftime ahead on the scoreboard 54-47.
Of those 21 goals, 11 were from the free kick line. SGA was 11 of 12 in free throws to match his career high for free throws made and free throws attempted in a first half (he was also 11 of 12 in the first half on January 29, 2025 against the Warriors.
In another vibrant game that went to overtime, the second in a row for the Thunder so far this season, SGA established a personal best by finishing the evening with 55 points thanks to his 15 of 31 from the field, 2 of 7 in triples and an accurate 23 of 26 in free throws.
It was certainly a historic night for Alexander, who became the first player in NBA history to score 85 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the first two games of a season.
With the 35 points he had on opening night against the Rockets and the 55 against the Pacers, SGA has 90 points this season, the fifth most scored by a player in his team’s first two games in NBA history and the most for a reigning MVP.
