Scandal in South Korea: sexual services to foreign referees

The offices of the South Korean Football Federation (KFA) were searched this Thursday and the raid revealed that the organization allegedly offered sexual services to foreign referees.

These accusations derive directly from a report broadcast on August 6 by the JTBC television channel, which specifies that the events date back to 2011 and involved several international referees who arrived in South Korea to officiate qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics.

These sexual services were organized for approximately ten referees who had to officiate seven different matches. The KFA apparently used company credit cards to pay for these services at several establishments in the country: in Seoul, Changwon and Ulsan.

““There may have been some unfortunate incidents 15 years ago, but since then we have implemented strict internal rules and are doing everything we can to prevent this from happening again,” declared the federation to the television channel.
