Sampaoli, struck down

The Athletic Club Workshops announced this Sunday, August 30, the dismissal of Jorge Sampaoli as coach. This, less than three months after taking office, due to the poor results of the Córdoba team in the Argentine league, where they are in last place.

“The Board of Directors of Club Atlético Talleres informs that Jorge Sampaoli has ended his term as technical director of the club,” the club shared in an official statement.

And they add: “We thank Jorge and his entire high-ranking coaching staff for their professionalism and commitment during this stage at the head of the First Team, which for everyone had other expectations in terms of results.”

Talleres drew 0-0 yesterday at home against Central Córdoba from Santiago del Estero. Before, he had harvested one victory, two draws and four losses.

The Córdoba team has also indicated that in the coming days they will inform who will be on the bench starting with the next Argentine league match. What is not known is what the future will hold for Sampaoli.
