Sainz: “If you design a track that is bad for us, maybe it will be this one and it will be the most difficult”
“I’m very focused from the first lap, but Unfortunately I don’t expect to be very competitive and I don’t expect anything special going into the weekend,” said Carlos Sainz when he got out of his car after the first day of the Spanish F1 GP, at the official premiere of the Madring.
“If you design a track that is worse for us, maybe it is this one and it is the most difficult. So we must try to combine all the factors in our favor and see where we end up at the end of the weekend,” added Carlos, making it clear that, although he loves the design of this circuit with so much character and so complicated, Madring is totally against a Williams that also has no strong points and many weak points this year.
“We had a smooth day. No problems, no incidents. With good sessions in which we experimented with the car’s configuration and adjusted it”pointed out Sainz who was 16th and that in this Saturday’s classification he will try to go for the difficult objective of Q2.
“The track is incredible. It’s one of those circuits where you don’t want to stop accelerating when you get in the car. It’s frenetic, to put it mildly. And I’m enjoying it a lot,” he said for his part about Madring.
