Ronald Acuña works to return to the Lineup of Braves in recovery of anterior cross ligament surgery

Atlanta – The star gardener of the Atlanta Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr., will submit next week to a reassessing of the injured left knee, while working to return to the Atlanta lineup after an anterior cross ligament surgery (LCA) last year.

Acuña, who broke the previous cross ligament (LCA) on May 26 and was operated on June 6, will travel to Los Angeles for the review, the manager of the Braves reported Thursday, Brian Snitker.

Acuña has been practicing live batting, but has not received authorization to make sprints or cuttings, Snitker said. The 27 -year -old toleter has not run from the batting box in his training.

“They just have to review and approve it before I can do it,” Snitker said. “And I think this was part of the initial plan. I don’t think he will hurry or anything. It has been so from the beginning.”

Acuña was injured after 49 games last season and hit just .250 with four home runs, one year after winning the MVP of the National League with 41 homers, 73 stolen bases and an average batting of .337.

“It is, like other players that spring training are lost, to put it in shape when you receive the medical discharge,” Snitker said.

The Braves have had difficulties without Acuña in the Lineup this season. Atlanta lost nine of his first 11 games and was tied in 28th place with 34 races scored before Thursday’s game.
