Rockies and White Sox en Route to break the defender record in MLB
Colorado and Chicago are at the bottom of the standing of the major leagues in 2025 and, more importantly, and approach MLB’s negative records.
A year after Chicago White Sox They broke the modern record of defeats in a season in the Major Leagues (MLB)the inhabitants of the south of the city of the winds and the Colorado Rockies They are being placed in the undesirable position of making it much worse.
Colorado (4-21, percentage of .160) and Chicago (6-20, percentage of .231) enter the day of Saturday battling for leaving the bottom of the standing of the major leagues in 2025 and, more importantly, start moving away from the negative baseball records.
While White Sox visit the Athletics In Sacramento, rockies are receiving the Cincinnati Reds in the Coors Field of Denver. On Friday, the Athletics turned off a rebellion in the ninth entrance to win 6-5, while Cincinnati scored twice in the eighth entrance to impose 8-7.
The White Sox got the dubious honor of the modern era (from 1901 onwards) in 2024, when they closed the harvest with 41-121 mark and percentage of .253. Chicago sprayed the brand that the New York Mets of 1962 (40-120, .250) achieved in their first year in the major leagues.
That version of the “South Siders” lost 21 consecutive games at one time and had three different gusts of 12 or more defeats.
Colorado has lost four games in a row, it has 1-9 in the last 10 and enters the shock of Saturday with the fifth more setbacks in the first 25 matches of a season in the era of expansion (since 1961). Chicago had 2-8 in its previous 10 meetings.
But even if they improve a bit onwards, Colorado and Chicago could lose 100 or more games for the third year often.
In fact, to maintain its current percentage of cattle and lost (.160) – which would be the worst of the modern era – Colorado would end with less than 30 victories. The Cleveland Spiders of 1899 had the worst performance of a club in the history of MLB, ending the season with a 20-134 brand (percentage of .130) and 84 Games of the Brooklyn Superbas (today Dodgers) in the National League.
That Cleveland team lost 24 consecutive games at a point of the season and had a record of 11-101 on the road.
And Chicago is not far in projections. To conclude around a .231 would be below its 41 triumphs last year.
