The player, who will turn 35 on June 6, has practically spent the list of injured since 2020, falling more than 15 times since 2021 -on 10 and 60 days lists.

In his first seven years with Washington-he released at least five times to the list of injured-he played 916 games of 1,134, hitting .290 with 245 doubles and 136 home runs, in addition to 546 races produced. He had an OBP of .369 and PAHO of .859. In five campaigns he played at least 136 games in each and in two registered at least 150.

He arrived at the free agency after a great season in 2019, hitting .319, with 34 homers and being leader of the National League with 126 races produced and 44 doubles -for the second year often with the same figure. He had an OBP of .412 and OPS of 1,010. His War was 7.1, he was chosen to the star game, won the silver bat and was third in the MVP vote.

His only “full season” with Los Angels can be the 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic shortened the season at 60 games and Rendón played 52 of them, without falling to the list of injured.

However, at the beginning of the 2021 season, the Calvary began for Rendón and Angels when falling to the list of 10 -day injured with a distention in the left groin on April 12, and then falling three times and ending its season in August when it was transferred to IL of 60 days.

From 2022 to 2024 the same story was repeated, after playing 58 games in 2021, it was limited to 47 in 2022, to 43 in 2023 and 57 in 2024.

In five seasons with Los Angels he adds 257 games played and a salary in the five campaigns of 165,857,143 dollars, earning $ 645,358,53 per game.

For the 2025 season, which starts Tuesday in Japan, Rendón is guaranteed a salary of 38,571,428 dollars, which could be taken without making a single swing. By 2026, the same salary is subtracted from his contract, with one more dollar.

To date, it has given only 22 home runs with Los Angels, at a cost of 11.13 million dollars each taking into account the total value of the $ 245 million contract. Add 224 hits –200,892.85 dollars each. Each race that has produced —12-has cost Los Angels a total of 360 thousand dollars.

Strasburg’s case

After a postseason in 2019 that ended with a 5-0 mark and effectiveness of 1.98 in the race for the Washington championship, winning each of its two openings against the Houston Astros in the World Series to be chosen the most valuable player, Strasburg disappeared from the Major League map from 2020 for the lesions.

Upon reaching its 11th season in 2020 – traveled to 60 games, it limited itself to launching five tickets against Baltimore Orioles, before being diagnosed with the carpal tunnel syndrome by its hand of launching.

In 2021 inflammation on the shoulder and distention in the neck limited him to launch 21.2 entries in five openings, while in 2022 he barely launched 4.2 episodes in an initiated game.

After being diagnosed with the thoracic output syndrome, which finally led him to surgery to correct a nervous and blood disorder that involved removing a rib and two neck muscles, his career ended and led him to announce his retirement last year.

Under his contract of $ 245 million from 2020 to 2026, he launched eight games as a starter, adding 31.1 tickets, with 28 strikeouts. In total he made 530 Pistcheos, 305 of them strikes.

His contract gave him salaries of $ 35 million per season, so Washington will pay him $ 140 million without performing a single pitching between 2023 and 2026.

Each punch cost Nationals $ 1,607,142.86 and each Strike $ 803,278.69 dollars. For each game released from 2020 it will win $ 5,625,000 dollars. Each entrance launched was $ 7,903,225.81, with one more third as a gift.

No doubt Rendón and Strasburg will be part of the history of the Nationals for the title achieved in 2019, but they will always be linked to which the two worst guaranteed contracts signed in the history of MLB can be.
