Real Madrid narrowly beat Juventus and continues its perfect performance in the Champions League
Real Madrid defeated Juventus 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, for the third date of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League 2025-2026. The match can be revived for the Disney+ Premium Plan (Only for South America).
Merengue dominated the game but collided with a very important defensive block from Vecchia Signorabut managed to unlock it in time to take an important victory at home.
In the first half, Real Madrid was dominant from the ball possession side, but without being able to translate that dominance into the result or in clear dangerous situations, beyond a shot by Kylian Mbappé well resolved by goalkeeper Di Gregorio.
The visit opted to wait and counterattack, without much success, beyond some approach to Courtois’ goal.
Precisely, one of these counters at the beginning of the complement was the most dangerous of the Vecchia Signora, with a run by Dusan Vlahovic, which beat Éder Militao and defined against the Belgian goalkeeper, who covered with his legs and avoided the goal.
At 57 minutes, Madrid was finally able to unlock the Italian team’s defensive lock. Vinícius Junior put together a great play in the area with pure feint and took a cross whip that hit the post, but found Jude Bellingham completely alone to make it 1-0.
The goal advantage gave great peace of mind to Xabi Alonso’s men who began to control the actions of the match without problems and get closer to the second goal, which if it weren’t for Di Gregorio could have come on a couple of occasions, against Mbappé and Díaz.
At the end of the match there was some uncertainty, due to a very clear play by Juventus that left Lois Openda in front of the goal, but her shot was blocked just in time to avoid a tie. In the last minute, another shot, in this case by Filip Kostic, was cleared by Courtois.
With the victory, Real Madrid reached the group of leaders with an ideal score, adding three wins in a row, just before ‘El Clásico’ against Barcelona, for LaLiga.
