Mallorca paid tribute to Rafael Nadal at the Son Moix stadium, in the preview of the league match against Osasuna, and gave him the first ‘Dimoni d’Honor’ (demon of honour).

The club indicated in a statement that “He is a world leader whose legacy transcends sports. His spirit of improvement, his commitment, his humility and his extraordinary career have made him an admired figure around the world and a source of pride for Mallorca and Spain.”

He also stressed that the award was created “with the desire to distinguish Balearic personalities who have stood out for their excellence, values ​​and contribution to society.”

The club added that “there is no better way to inaugurate this recognition than with the best Spanish athlete of all time.”
