Rafael Camara will drive for Haas in the São Paulo Grand Prix
The Brazilian Rafael CamaraFerrari’s youth team driver and leader of the Formula 2 classification, will drive for the Haas Formula 1 team in the next São Paulo Grand Prix (Brazil)after confirmation by the team that the Frenchman Esteban Ocon will no longer compete with them this year.
During the weekend of Mexico City Grand PrixOcon – who had already announced that he would leave Haas at the end of the season – was replaced by the reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa.
The Japanese finished in tenth position in Mexico and scored a point in his first race with the team, but his previous commitments in the World Endurance Championship this coming weekend have opened the door for Camara, who has a contract with Haas for 2027, to make his F1 debut ahead of schedule.
The Brazilian has several years of experience in the lower formulas, where he has won titles in the European Formula Regional and in Formula 3, but he also made a great impression behind the wheel of the Haas car for 2025 during a test session of previous models (TPC) held in August, reports the World Championship website.
