Prosinecki stops being coach of Kyrgyzstan, after 4 friendlies without victories
The former Croatian footballer and coach Robert Prosinecki He has stopped being Kyrgyzstan’s coach, the Croatian news portal reports this Tuesday ‘Index’ citing the Kyrgyz Football Federation, an entity that confirmed that both parties reached a “mutual agreement to end the collaboration.”
The termination of the contract comes just eight months after he took office last December.
During his management, the 57-year-old coach did not play any official match and led the Central Asian team in only four friendly matches, achieving a record of two draws (against Palestine) and two defeats (against Equatorial Guinea and Madagascar).
In the past he was also coach of the national teams of Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro, and the Red Star clubs of Serbia, Kayserispor and Denizlispor of Turkey, Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia and Rudes of Croatia.
As a footballer, he was chosen best player of the Yugoslav team that was crowned champion of the 1987 FIFA Youth World Cup and best young player of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, in addition to playing, among others, for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Seville.
He played 49 international matches for Croatia between 1994 and 2002, with participation in the 1996 European Championship and the 1998 and 2002 World Cups.
