Novak Djokovic: “Playing alongside Kyrgios should be…”
Novak Djokovic already palpitated his return in the Brisbane ATP. The Serbian already has a rival for the single debut but he will also partner with the Australian Nick Kyrgios.
“It’s fantastic to be back. I haven’t played in Brisbane since the ATP Cup in 2020, so it’s exciting and I really want to compete,” he assumed.
The Serbian will make his second appearance in Brisbane as an ATP 250 tournament proper. In the 2009 edition he was defeated by Ernests Gulbis in the first round.
The top seed as No. 7 in the world will face Australian guest Rinky Hijikata in the first round.
But the plus will be that he will have Kyrgios as a doubles partner. “It will be fun. We’ve never been a team, so we’ll see. We have already written to each other about it. We already talked before at Wimbledon about playing together when he returns to the circuit, so we will have the first opportunity to play in the first week of the season, So it should be fun.”
