New challenge from UEFA to FIFA

The confrontation between UEFA and the FIFA current situation is evident and is no longer hidden from anyone’s eyes. An obvious gesture of the same was when the European organization that presides Alexander Ceferin appointed Somali referee Omar Artanexpelled from the World Cup by the United States, to direct the European Super Cup on August 12 in Salzburg. Match that pitted Paris Saint-Germain, champion of the Champions League, against Aston Villa, winner of the Europa League. A match that ended with a new title for the Parisian team.

But it is not the only gesture of the European body and the arbitration establishment of Roberto Rosetti with the African referee. In addition, UEFA has decided to invite him to the first seminar of the season where the best referees from the European continent are gathered. It is the usual course that takes place each season before the start of the group stage of the Champions League, like the other two European club competitions, Europa and Conference League.

Course that will take place at the UEFA headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland) from August 31 to September 2.

The Somali referee will share an experience during these days with the 35 referees of the ELITE group of UEFA arbitration, the best considered in Europe, along with the 61 of the FIRST group, the second level of arbitration in Europe. Within this group there will be six Spanish referees. This is the World Cup winner Alejandro Hernández Hernández along with José María Sánchez Martínez and Jesús Gil Manzano in the ELITE group along with three others from the FIRST group: Alberola Rojas, De Burgos Bengoechea and Juan Martínez Munuera. Course where the guidelines are transmitted before the start of the three European competitions and which will feature the African referee as an exceptional guest.
