Muchova’s tears after losing the Wimbledon final: “I felt like I was blocked from the beginning”
The Czech Karolina Muchova admitted feeling disappointed by the defeat suffered in the final of Wimbledonsurpassed by his compatriot Linda Noskovaand which represents the second final of grand slam that I couldn’t win after Roland Garros from 2024.
“I’m very disappointed. It’s a tough defeat even though I would have also signed on to reach the final before starting the tournament,” Muchova said. “When a few days pass I will appreciate the result achieved,” he added.
“I just wanted to fight for every point because it is a Wimbledon tournament that means a lot to me. I did everything to break their serve, hold mine and keep fighting because I didn’t want a clear defeat. I always thought I could turn the score around and when I won the second set I believed in my options,” Muchova analyzed.
“It will take me a few days to recover from this defeat. I am sad and disappointed,” she insisted. “Having played in the final is very important. My tennis is improving and I think I am better,” added the Czech player.
“Win a grand slam It’s still one of my dreams. Now it has been a hardship but also a motivation to work harder,” said the runner-up of Wimbledon.
The Czech assumed that she played one of her worst matches of the tournament against Noskova. “In the previous ones I played better. Linda played very well. It was difficult for me to recover and I used a lot of strength to equalize the match. In the third set I could no longer maintain the level,” added the Czech player who blamed the effort.
I felt physically tired after the semifinals because the match against Coco Gauff was very hard. I accused him. And I was nervous because I wanted with all my might to win this tournament.
