Muchova and Machac gave the Czech Republic a place in the semi-finals of the United Cup

Karolina Muchova and Tomas Machac dominated Jasmine Paolini and Fabio Cobolli, respectively, and gave the Czech Republic a clear victory against Italy that places them in the semifinals of the United Cup, where they will face the United States.

The last quarterfinal matchup had an unexpected outcome. The combined Davis Cup and Billie Jean King champion in 2024 barely stood up to his rival.

Muchova overwhelmed the world number four, Jasmine Paolin, for a double 6-2 in one hour and 43 minutes. The Czech added one more victory against Paolini. Five victories in as many duels for Muchova, twenty-second in the women’s ranking.

With the same forcefulness, Machac surpassed Cobolli. In less than an hour he beat the Italian for the third time, 6-1 and 6-2, who has never achieved any victory against his rival.

The Czech Republic will face the United States, champion two years ago, in the semifinals in the first edition. The other duel for the final will be played Kazakhstan and Poland.
