Monaco, a more friendly place with Alpine?

The French team suffers with the engine, which is less powerful than the others, but in the Principality the driver is not so important. The A525 could make a leap.

Alpine has a deficit that cannot be solved: the engine. It is not that the team does not want to invest in improvements, but since 2022 a freezing in development to reduce costs governs. The French asked for an exception to the FIA, with concrete evidence that they were at a clear disadvantage. But they had to receive the come from all the teams and that did not happen. The disadvantage is between 20 and 30 hp, depending on the rival with which it compares it. There are currently four motor suppliers: Alpine (only for your team), Honda, Ferrari and Mercedes. That gap they suffer in Estone was key for Flavio Briatore to decideyear in which there will be a new technical regulations and cars and engines will be changed.

But in the meantime, Alpine has to try to maximize the chances that may appear to add points and that is paid in money for the following year. And the next F1 stop is one of those that should try to take advantage of: Monaco.

The intricate street of the Principality does not develop high speeds and the engine is not so important, so it is a possibility for Alpine. AM850.com consulted Collapint just about that possibility and the Argentine replied: “Surely the lack of motor in Monaco will be placed, it is a different circuit and we can surely be a little closer. It is a clue where you have to have a lot of confidence and you have to try to do the best you can.”

In Alpine they are hoped with Monaco. They know that winning will be almost impossible, provided we do not happen strange things like rain or red flags that change the game. But getting into the points and adding something look like a possibility. The chassis of the A525, the first developed by the Frenchman David Sanchez is good, only is missing engine. But in the Principality that can go unnoticed.
