Millionaires: Santiago Castrillón, player of the Under 20 team, died
At midnight on March 22, Millionaires reported the death of youth Santiago Castillón after a collapse during the National Under 20 Tournament.
The 18-year-old midfielder was participating in a match for that category against Santa Fe in the north of Bogotá and was left lying on the playing field. He received medical attention and arrived at a high-complexity hospital center received by specialists in the cardiovascular area.
“Despite medical efforts, Santiago was unable to recover and died this Sunday in the company of his family, colleagues and friends,” the club noted through its social networks.
Born in Bucaramanga, he stood out as a 10 midfielder in the training divisions.
“With deep feeling we say goodbye to our number 10, our teammate, our friend. Santiago not only played football. He lived it, he felt it, he shared it with a smile that today remains tattooed on all of us,” the statement added.
The captain Falcao Garcia He spoke with a message of solidarity for his family.
“We say goodbye to him with a broken heart, but also with the firm promise to continue fighting for what he longed for. We accompany his family in this difficult time and raise a prayer that they find comfort, strength and peace. May God bless you and embrace you today and always,” he said.
