Manager Dave Roberts commented on Sunday that Grove has been dealing with shoulder pain since last season.

“He is disappointed,” Roberts said. “Tommy John has already undergone surgery and didn’t want to go through another surgery. He tried to endure and launch it despite this, but he was only committing his performance and recovery. ”

Grove was selected in the second round by the Dodgers in 2018 after playing at University in West Virginia.
