The Woking team liberated Alex Dunne with immediate effect. The Irish, F2 corridor, had shone in the first free training of Austria. What will be your future?

Alex Dunne surprised everyone in the Austrian GP. The young Irishman, as a member of the McLaren Talent Development Program, climbed to MCL39 during the first free training of the Austrian GP and was fourth, just behind Oscar Piestri, who barely took 69 thousandths. His walk in his first F2 season also caught his attention: he was as a pilot vehement and who does not hesitate to take risks. Sometimes it passes, as happened in the start of Monaco’s feature race. But his name was gaining ground in the world of the highest category. In this context, The Woking team announced in the previous to the Singapore GP the immediate disconnection of Dunne of its team.

“McLaren Racing has finished his contract with Alex Dunne, a member of the pilot development program. It has been a pleasure to work with Alex during the last year and have been able to contribute to his success and growth as a pilot,” said the English Team.

The rumors of the last days located Dunne at the Red Bull radar. Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, would have tried to unite the Irish with Alpine for 2026but everything seems to indicate that fate will be within the structure of energy drinks. In fact, Dunne was gathered with Helmut Marko, a strong man of the Austrians, during the Hungary GP.

Red Bull and Racing Bulls has two confirmed pilots for 2026 and two seats without owner. Max Verstappen will continue in the main team and everything indicates that Isack Hadjar will be anointed as a companion of the Dutch, after his great first season in the Faenza team. Yuki Tsunoda, current Max’s partner, could return to Racing Bulls or join as Aston Martin reserve, due to his commercial bond with Honda (he will be a supplier of power units of the Lawrence Stroll team next year).

LThe other candidates for Racing Bulls are Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindbladthe English that belongs to the Red Bull program. Dunne could aspire to a Racing Bulls armchair or continue in 2026 as a F2 pilot, but within the Milton Keynes team program.
