Martín Muñoz and the growth of San Marcos: “We have achieved an enormous identity and maturity”
There are teams that are constantly growing in the women’s Metropolitan and Saint Mark It is one of them, in large part, thanks to the 2025 it is having. Martín Muñoz, its technical director, spoke hand in hand with AM850.com about the team’s great year: from a few words for having reached the semifinals of the Buenos Aires Cup, development to defining the process throughout the entire season.
“It was a beautiful process, a path of great effort. The girls played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, holidays or Saturdays and Sundays off that we had and made a great effort to reach the semifinals of the Buenos Aires Development Cup. and to fight for promotion in the Metropolitan D4. We know that the path in the cup was beautiful and to have been there, in the semifinals in the Olympic Park, is an achievement“, The DT began regarding his participation in the Baires Cup.
Regarding the growth of the team throughout 2025, Martín Muñoz did not hide his pride in San Marcos: “Our objectives were the Buenos Aires Development Cup and the D4 tournament, where we still have a mathematical chance of entering the Playoffs and we are going to fight until the end. The team raised a lot in the second round, we have gained maturity in confidence, in security. We play hockey and for us that is what is important. “What the girls are showing is a very big growth compared to last year and compared to the first part of the year.”
“The truth is that we made a very big change mentally, above all things, and also in confidence, not only individually but also confidence with those next to us. Many players who came from minors began to consolidate themselves with the idea of the game that is seen in the team. We have achieved an identity, but above all things, a maturity and solidity with which we play today. “It’s another thing we started the year with and not to mention last year,” he said.
Finally, Muñoz closed: “I am very satisfied with the girls’ effort throughout the year. It is very contagious in the club, what is experienced inside is very familiar. We knew how to play on sand courts like ours and on water courts, we are going to row from behind but it is a team and a club that always puts its heart before everything. That makes one also love the club, go out of their way for the club, want to make it grow, and it is the idea of us as a coaching staff, making the club grow as much as we can. Being in the Cup was a growth, we missed it by very little but I am happy with what the team showed, and above all things confident that we can continue growing.”
