The strategist Mark Kotsay agrees that could keep it as a manager of Athletics until 2029

Mesa, Arizona – The manager Mark Kotsay agreed one eXtension of contract with the Athletics to the Season 2028and that includes a Club option for 2029.

The agreement was announced on Monday and coincided with the team’s first complete training in spring.

Kotsay, 49, is found in his fourth season as the A’s pilot, touching him to lead the franchise through a period of changes that has included a transfer from Oakland to Sacramento, California, where they will play in a stadium of minor leagues during the next seasons. The eventual plan is to definitely move to Las Vegas.

The A’s had a 69-93 record last season, which represents an improvement of 19 wins compared to a 112 losses season in 2023. The team seems to be rising with a young alignment that includes Brent Rooker, Shea Langeliers , Lawrence Butler and JJ Bleday.

Rooker signed a five -year contract and 60 million dollars with the A’s during the low season. They also acquired the Dominican law Luis Severino in the free agency with a three -year contract and 67 million dollars, indicating that the franchise, usually frugal, is willing to open its wallet to compete in the west division of the American League.

Kotsay originally had a three-year contract that covered 2022-24 and in November 2023 the team exercised its option by 2025. Now, the manager and vein has some job security prior to the start of his stay in Sacramento.
