Magui Aicega and the best birthday of his life
A beautiful story has come to an end and in the best possible way. Magdalena Aicega –Magui, for the entire sports world-, he turned 52 on November 1st and that same day he completed the return to the First Division of his beloved Belgrano Athletic.
After two years in the second category, the BAC returned to “A”after a conjunction of events and efforts that made the objective possible, and this is how Aicega expressed it: “A beautiful feeling, the only thing I wanted was to ascendit was the only thing I thought about, we set out to do it from the first day the coaching staff arrived. A dream that seemed very far away, It was step by step, but it was a lot of work throughout the year that today has its fruits, so I am very happy”.
Magui She is no longer the Belgrano player who divided her life between Las Leonas and her studiesbut today she works as a journalist and mother of three (Rocco, Indiana and Luca), but she has the formula to be able to exceed her expectations in every place she goes: “It is organizing and it is doing what you likeIf you like something, I think that if you organize yourself you can do it. Obviously I was tired, I’m not going to lie to you, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to be there.”
In 2023, when the BAC was in danger of losing the category, Magdalena put on her tartan boots again and tried to collaborate on the field with the institution that saw her birth: “The reality is that Belgrano gave me everything and I always gave him everything. When we had to go down, I wanted to simply be there to contribute my experience and accompany the team, that seemed fundamental to me.”.
“Said‘I’m going to fight with this team’which is an incredible team because of what they train and the result later may or may not happen, but it was the path we had to take, I had fun every day, the truth is that I had a spectacular time, but above all because they trained very well and on top of that we had a good time, so it is a beautiful group, I knew it was like that, but this was a magical year, and when I’m no longer here and next year they play in A, I’m going to enjoy it and I know that there is a great team to fight for in A.“, he stated Magui.
And he continued, “in 2024 we tried, but it didn’t happen and this year everything happened. A lot of work was done and as I always say: ‘Belgrano is my second home’, It is the place where if I am not at home I am at the club and it is pure happiness“, concluded the historic Leona.
