Luis Diaz was once again decisive in the victory of the Bayern Munich about Atalanta for the UEFA Champions League, in a match in which he not only contributed to the result, but also left very positive feelings for what is to come with the Colombian National Team.

The Colombian valued the collective work of the team and the way they managed to manage the advantage in the series to secure qualification. “We played a correct game. We know that we have a squad in which, whoever it is his turn to play, does so in a very good way. Also we had that advantage factor and it was super important to manage who played or not. So, we played a very good game, we looked for the result at home, which was obviously what we were going to do, we got the result forward and, thank God, we were able to qualify for the next round.”

In addition, Díaz highlighted his personal moment, recognizing the evolution he has had with the passing of the games. “There were already times when I missed those chances at the beginning of the season, but today I am always trying to improve as much as possible and correct what I can. Now I have that confidence that I have been showing game after game. It’s just trying to define as safely as possible, it’s a matter of moment and seconds in the play. Very happy to help the team again with a goal and assist.”

Thinking about what is coming, the winger made it clear that recovery will be key in the midst of a demanding schedule. “It is important now to rest, because there is still a lot to go. We have to continue fighting for everything we are playing for.”

With the FIFA date just around the corner, Luis Díaz is already changing his mindset and setting his sights on the Colombian National Team, where he hopes to maintain the level shown in Europe. “After the weekend game we have selection. You have to try to regulate and compete in a very good way, and come back with everything. We cannot lower it, we have to remain focused, concentrated on the objective we have, which is very clear. We have a spectacular group and we have to continue in this same way.”

Finally, he explained what his incorporation into the national team will be like, also prioritizing his commitment to Bayern. “No, apparently I can’t travel right away. I will stay to be able to see the team at the weekend, which is also important to support, because the team needs it on and off the field. Then I will travel the next day.”

With prominence in Europe and confidence on the rise, Luis Díaz is emerging as one of the key pieces of the Colombian National Team on the next FIFA date, maintaining the level that has him shining with Bayern.
