Libertadores: Junior presents an attack of experience to receive the favorite Palmeiras
Experience in attack is one of the strong points of Junior at its premiere Conmebol Libertadores. They will receive Palmeiras on date 1 of Group F.
Career in Europe, in the World Cup. Hundreds of goals. The forwards of the Colombian champion add many hours of flight in international football to face the Cup debut against one of the candidates.
All three are children of the land. Barranquilla, Santo Tomás and Puerto Colombia. Atlantic blood represented by Teófilo Gutiérrez, Luis Muriel and Carlos Bacca. They complement each other due to their different offensive profiles. Some more of an area, others very participatory in the preparation.
Teo is the oldest of all. Idol, seven-time champion, lethal in finishing and constant support to get the ball into dangerous areas.
“We have a very big commitment. This is a tournament that everyone wants to play in and we have to give value to that. And as one of the leaders I feel very happy because this team never gives up,” stood out.
Muriel enjoys the fan’s dream. He returned to the country to play with the red and white shirt. His physical adaptation took a while but he already has seven scores. Everything points to his ownership against the Brazilians.
“I try to interpret my role from where I have to, in the best way to contribute to help the team,” he stated.
Bacca returned from an Achilles tendon injury the previous semester. It barely adds up to half an hour in two games this year. However, his ascendancy on the squad is important. It is a luxury alternative.
The three Colombians are joined by the Paraguayan Guillermo Paiva from the past in Libertadores with Olimpia and Colo Colo. He usually leaves the area to bring the ball and recover with pressure. In this course he contributed two assists.
