Leones comes from behind against Tigres and equals the Final Series in the Dominican League

With a couple of RBI runs from Jean Segura in the eighth inning, Esído defeats Tigres and ties the Final Series of the Dominican League at one victory
SANTO DOMINGO — Jean Segura shot a unstoppable tugboat of two races at the height of the eighth inning, and the Lions of the Chosen One they came from behind to defeat on tuesday 3-2 to the Licey Tigersin the second game of the Final Series of the Dominican League (LiDom).
With the victory, the Lions (1-1) managed to tie the Tigers (1-1) in the best-of-seven series at the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal stadium.
The Lions struck first in the game, when with two out, at the height of the fourth inning, José Marmolejos hit a hit to the right field side, driving in Franchy Cordero with the first run of the game.
On the play, Emilio Bonifacio made a strong shot to third base to retire Zoilo Almonte, and put an end to the Scarlets’ attack in that fourth act.
The cats did not waste time and responded at the top of the fifth episode, scoring twice to take command of the match.
The first round of the blues was driven by Bonifacio, who with two out in the inning, fired a hit to center field, which allowed Gustavo Núñez to score from second base, to equal the score 1-1.
In the continuation of that fifth inning, Bonifacio stole second base, from where he scored with a single to Sergio Alcántara’s center, giving the Tigres a 2-1 lead.
The pitching of both teams kept the score tied until the bottom of the eighth inning, when after two outs, Segura came to the batter’s box with the bases loaded and managed to hit a hit to the left field against reliever Enyel de los Santos to tow Luis Liberato and Venezuelan Wilfredo Tovar, who gave the advantage and victory to the Lions.
The Lions had 4.2 innings of two runs from starter Emilio Vargas, while the Tigers enjoyed 4.1 innings of one run by right-hander César Valdez, passing both teams and for the second consecutive game, the work of their relief pitching.
The victory went to the account of Venezuelan Silvino Bracho (1-0), who pitched a scoreless inning, with a strikeout, for the Lions.
De los Santos (0-1) allowed two runs in two thirds of an inning, with a strikeout, to take the loss for the Tigers.
Rafael Montero (1) dominated the three batters he faced in the ninth inning to earn the save.
The final continues on Wednesday with its third duel, in which the Tigers will host the Lions in the stadium shared by both teams.
