Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate: “If the improvement is good, we will be able to fight for the points. If it is very good, maybe for something more. In the simulator we go much faster”

This year, Lance Stroll has been one of the most critical voices within the Aston Martin team. In the tests he already warned of the many seconds of disadvantage they had, something that was later confirmed. And in Australia he even compared the vibrations that the engine then caused and that affected the pilots to an “electric chair.” That is why the statements made by the Canadian before the British F1 GP are now so important.

Lance has made no secret of the many problems the car has had this year. He was always clear and transparent about it. And on this occasion, his speech changed completely when referring to the first major package of evolutions that Adrian Newey is working on, which the green team will debut in Hungary.

This is a practically new car for Alonso and Stroll, which will be accompanied by a subsequent first evolution of the Honda engine in Zandvoort. Aston Martin hopes to take a step forward to fight for the points in the middle zone and move away from the back of the grid. And judging by Stroll’s words, the optimism is great.

“We will find out in Hungary, and in the Netherlands we will have everything complete (because the new engine will also arrive). But I tested the new package in the simulator and it seems that we are going much faster. We don’t know how much because it cannot be estimated until we put the car on the track. But I hope it will give us opportunities”he explained.

“If the improvement is good, we can fight for points. But if the improvement is great, maybe we can fight for something more,” He added, with great faith towards these evolutions that the Canadian and Fernando will experience in Hungary.
