Justice archives Mbappé’s lawsuit against PSG for moral harassment

The French justice shelved “due to lack of sufficient evidence” the complaint filed last year by Kylian Mbappé against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, due to lack of sufficient evidence, local media reported this Friday.

In the midst of the judicial war opened by the collection of the last fringes of his contract with the PSGthe footballer’s lawyers filed that lawsuit, which they later withdrew, but the open investigation continued.

But given that “the complainant himself does not support the lawsuit,” the investigating judges shelved it last May due to the impossibility of moving forward, according to the media.

The moral harassment that Mbappé denounced referred to the fact that the player was removed from the first team at the start of the 2022/2023 season due to his refusal to extend his contract with the French club.

With this measure, the club’s management sought to encourage him to renew or leave the club in exchange for a significant amount of money, before his contract expired at the end of that season and he could leave free.

Finally, after several weeks, the player was able to reintegrate into the discipline of the first team, coached in his first year by Luis Enrique. At the end of that campaign he left the PSG path of real Madrid.

The club then withheld part of the player’s salary and bonuses, considering that they were part of a verbal agreement it had reached with the president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, to reintegrate the first template. But the player claimed it and in May 2025 launched a judicial campaign on several fronts, including a complaint for moral harassment.

But he finally withdrew it, after a Labor Court ruled in favor of him in the contractual dispute and forced PSG to pay him 61 million euros, a decision that the club did not appeal, which made it final.

With the filing of this case, all the legal disputes that Mbappé had with PSG, which he arrived in 2017 from Monaco, after a transfer of 180 million, the second most expensive in history, are closed.

After having become the top scorer in the club’s history, with which he won seven leagues, four French Cups and a League Cup, in 2024 he left for Real Madrid on a free transfer.
