Judge and Ohtani, chosen for the ASG as the most voted

Aaron Judge led MLB in voting for the star game, while Shohei Ohtani led the National League.

New York – Shohei Ohtani, from Los Angeles Dodgers, and Aaron Judge, from the New York Yankees, were the first players chosen for the star game on July 15 at the Truist Park in Atlanta, after being chosen as headlines by fans on Thursday.

Judge led the major leagues with 4,012,983 votes in the first voting round of the fans, and the gardener was selected for his seventh opening in the American League in eight games of stars, although the 2023 game was lost due to a sprain on the big toe of the right foot. He was also the most voted player during the first phase in 2022 and last year.

Ohtani led the National League and was second in the Major Leagues with 3,967,668 votes, becoming the first batter designated to open in five sets of consecutive stars.

The duo was selected under the rules in force in 2022, which grant opener posts to the player with the highest number of votes in each league in the first online voting phase, which began on June 4 and ended on Thursday. Two finalists in each of the other positions advanced to the second phase, which extends from midday (east time) until noon on July 2 (east time).

The votes of the first phase are not cumulative.

You can vote once every 24 hours.

The remaining openers will be announced on July 2. The launchers and reserves will be revealed on July 6.
