Joshua Dürksen will participate in the Formula E rookie test
The Paraguayan driver was announced as a member of the Citroën team for the tests that will take place in Madrid on the 22nd.
Joshua Dürksen started 2026 on a high. The end of 2025 had already arrived with the announcement of his joining Invicta, the two-time champion Formula 2 team. At the beginning of February the Paraguayan was incorporated by the Mercedes F1 team as a development driver, at the beginning of the F2 tournament he won the sprint race in Australia and Now he has added another link to the chain: he will participate in the Formula E rookie test as part of the Citroën team.
The Paraguayan driver will turn on the 22nd at the Madrid Jarama circuit with the Gen3 Evo car. For the driver from Asunción it will be another step to add experiences and continue being evaluated by Mercedes F1.
“We are excited to be working with Joshua for the first time. He is a driver we have been following closely, and this type of testing is exactly what the rookie tests were created for.”: giving emerging talent the opportunity to demonstrate their ability in a Formula E environment. It will be a valuable experience for both Joshua and the team as we continue our development program with the Gen3 Evo package,” said Cyril Blais, Citroën Formula E team principal.
Dürksen said: “I am very excited to be joining Citroën Racing for the rookie test in Madrid. Formula E is a completely new championship for me, so having the opportunity to drive the Gen3 Evo car and working with such an experienced team is a fantastic opportunity. The goal of the day is to learn as much as possible: about the car, the systems and the way a Formula E team operates. It’s a completely different challenge compared to other cars, especially with the energy management and the technical aspect, so I’m going to pay close attention to every detail. “I want to thank Citroën Racing for the trust and I will do everything possible to make the most of this opportunity.”
