Joaquín Díaz Luzzi and Sofía González, best player of 2024

Like every year, the URBAN made the 2024 season awards ceremonyon this occasion, in City of Buenos Aires. In this ceremony, Sofía González, from CASA de Padua, and Joaquín Díaz Luzzi, from Alumnireceived the award for best player and best player of the yearrespectively. All rugby, on Disney+.

González had an unforgettable year, where in women’s rugby, she broke the hegemony of La Plata in the 12th championship and achieved the champion title with CASA de Padua, after defeating Las Canarias in the final. Additionally, in the Sevens of the Republic, he won the Bronze Cup with his club.

In Las Yaguaretés, they qualified for the Madrid Grand Final, although they could not achieve promotion to the World Sevens Circuit. However, in the women’s rugby seven team, she won the two-time South American championship.

For his part, Díaz Luzzi lifted the URBA Top 12 Copa Macro trophy, after defeating Belgrano in overtime, precisely with a drop of his own. In total, he added 204 points, the product of four tries, 37 penalties, 35 conversions and one drop. Also, he was runner-up in the 2024 National Club Championship after losing to Nicolás Sánchez’s Tucumán Lawn Tennis.
