Jaramillo regretted the Llaneros-Unión-Cartagena scandal in the ‘B’

Unión Magdalena was the team that won the ‘Grand Final’ of promotion football after defeating Llaneros on penalties in a series that was surrounded by controversy and in which Real Cartagena was also involved. Fernando Jaramillo, president of Dimayor, was consulted in AM850 because of the chaos regarding the regulations and the manager came clean.

The outcome of the tournament in the second half of the BetPlay Tournament was full of fights and complaints by the teams that defined the promotions. The first was Llaneros, who sought automatic promotion without end. Then, Cartagena demanded a playoff, which in the end never came.

The truth is that Unión and Llaneros were promoted in a final that the heroic team does not view favorably and would already be investigating. In the midst of all this conflict, Fernando Jaramillo regretted the confusion from the regulatory section and assured that they will seek to improve communication.

“Of course it hurts me that we have conflicts over issues that were not clear in the regulations. Obviously this is approved by everyone in the assembly. When misinterpretations of the regulations occur, each person wants to interpret them in the way that best suits them.. From the administration we only remember what the conditions of the competition are and then the clubs are responsible for how they plan their match,” he commented in AM850 F90.

“Some wanted to be promoted without playing in the final, others wanted to have the right to play-offs no matter what and the clubs must meet certain conditions. Today we reached conclusions, We know that the regulations must be improved and clarified. A one-year tournament was proposed in ‘B’, which would make the issue of promotions easier and it becomes more complex with two tournaments,” he added after it was confirmed that the format will be repeated in 2025.
