Italy succeeds Norway as European junior mixed relay champions
The Italian team won the gold medal in the junior mixed relay category at the Europeans of road cycling, which take place in Ljubljana (Slovenia) from October 2 to 7.
The Italian team finished its attempt in a time of 1h07:22.19. Italy succeeds Norway, European champion in 2025, in the event’s record of honors, in a podium completed by Poland, which stopped the clock at 1h07:45.21, and Switzerland (1h07:52.27).
All the routes of these Europeans are structured around a 22.1 kilometer circuit in which the protagonist is the ascent to Mozjanca (2.1 kilometers at 10.2% average slope, with maximums of 15.8%). The mixed relay, both in the junior and senior categories, consisted of doing two laps of the circuit, one for the men and the other for the women.
The individual time trials of all categories, all of them involving one lap of the circuit, will close the Europeans on Wednesday.
