“I am going to be the history of this club for everything I have done”
The Portuguese international Rafael Leao leave the AC Milanhis club since 2019, to join the Galatasaray Turkish, as announced yesterday Friday night after Milan’s victory (2-0) against Venice, in the opening match of the second day of the Italian league. “It is a difficult moment; I have said goodbye to my teammates after seven years, the time has come to say goodbye,” he declared in the mixed zone, according to words reported by the Italian press.
“I will undoubtedly remain in the history of the club for everything I have done. The love I feel for Milan will never disappear; I will always follow the team, even if it is from afar. I can only say thank you,” added the forward, who trained at Sporting Lisbon and who played for Lille (2018-19) before arriving in Italy.
According to the specialized press, the Galatasaray will spend up to 45 million euros to sign the 27-year-old striker, who will sign a contract with the Turkish club until 2030. With the Rossonera shirt, Leao has scored 80 goals in 291 games in all competitions and has won an Italian league title (2022) and an Italian Super Cup (2024).
