Herrera, upset with the refereeing for the elimination of Once Caldas: “The man takes away the possibility of going to a final”
Once Caldas lost 0-1 against Deportes Tolima at the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium and was eliminated on the sixth date of the semi-final home runs of the Colombian League.
The Albo team needed a draw to qualify for the final, for that reason in the last minutes in Ibagué they went on the attack to look for the goal that would give them the ticket to the final of the championship.
In one of the last plays, Joel Contreras fell inside the area due to a possible foul by Junior Hernández, but the referee did not whistle anything and let the meeting continue. The VAR did not comment on the possible penalty either.
At the end of the match, the coach Once Caldas, Hernán Darío Herrera spoke at a press conference where he strongly criticized the referee’s actions. John Alexander Hinestroza.
“What are you working on? It’s not to be punished. Punish them! Not to the coaches or the players who are killing themselves there. and the man It takes away the possibility of going to a final. He took it from us! Think a little more. “We don’t need anyone’s help,” said “El Arriero.”
The coach continued with his defensespointing out that there was a very clear penalty that they did not want to call.
“I was watching the video. Punish Carlos Antonio Vélez who said ‘penalty’. Don’t punish us. They are watching the game calmly. It says ‘penalty’. And the man (the referee) says ‘play fast’. He didn’t let us look at the VAR or anything,” said the coach.
Finally, goalkeeper James Aguirre referred to the pain that all the fans of the Manizales team must be feeling due to the elimination.
“I don’t give names but the desire so quickly that we would play and that it would go unnoticed and see the time that was 4 minutes. Imagine. It hurts me for our families, for the effort of a year. Sending is one more message of respect, that we value Colombian football. Very difficult like this,” said the goalkeeper.
“We are risking a future, don’t give it to us, but don’t let it look like that either,” added goalkeeper James Aguirre.
